WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

MATTHEW 12:37

When you open your mouth, mind what comes out of it. Have you ever blurted out something and immediately knew it was the wrong thing to do and say?

There is awesome power in the words that we speak. We either edify or break down the people around us by our conversation.

Parents do not understand what damage they will do when they continually tear away at the character of their children by telling them they are useless, stupid and will never amount to anything in life. Eventually, when their children don’t succeed in life, they get mad, while all along the way they prophesied doom over them.

You must control and be accountable for the words that you speak.  You have no excuse. Train yourself to listen to what you are saying and before you answer anyone, check what you are going to say. Be slow to answer!

When tempted to answer quickly – perhaps you are in some kind of an argument – take a deep breath and wait until you have yourself under control before you answer.

It is part of learning how to discipline your flesh, and the Holy Spirit will help you while you are in training.
