For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God’s favor and mercy].

Don’t tell me that you can’t help yourself. Yes you can. In the name of Jesus you can do anything that you put your heart to.

You have authority and dominion over your flesh. You are in control of these desires that are not pleasing to God and to your own spirit. When you go ahead with these wrong desires and thoughts you will only make yourself depressed and unhappy. The moment that you begin entertaining something you know is not in order for you to do, you will immediately justify why you need to do it. Your conscience will be grieved and your spirit discouraged.

Keep away from anything that you do not have power to control. Wait until you are strong, in the Lord, and then you may display your strength openly.

It is not in your own strength that you stand against the desires of your flesh, but in the strength of the Lord who has already overcome all these temptations for you. God will make a way for you to escape the temptation, so look for it, take the gap and run. Do not let the devil get the better of you; you are not to be subject and a servant to Satan.

When the enemy comes against you, get you eyes off the temptation and onto Jesus.
