Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall become united and cleave to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

A man should leave his mother and father and cleave (continually chase after) his wife. Most marriages suffer right there! The Mother and the Mother-In-Law get so involved that they almost move into the house with the newly weds!!  But the man is to ‘cleave’ to his wife, NOT his mother, and the cleaving part is the best part for him. It’s what God put inside of him! At this time most new brides discover the headache option. Not good!

Marriage is a wonderful institution if you are able to work through the things that get in the way. Taking two totally different lives and telling them to “live together until they die, and to be happy” is a miracle if it happens. In many cases the results are excellent, but through pressure and problems others do not last the fight of remaining together.

I personally believe in the miracle of one flesh. When marriage promises are made in the name of Jesus, there is far more power present to make that union successful than in any other case. Even so, a good marriage takes hard work on the part of BOTH parties as they adapting to one another. The woman by nature is submissive, but that will only be done willingly, if the man loves her with the love that Christ loved the church, and gave Himself for it. That kind of love NEVER fails!

Honor, respect and appreciation will build any marriage and make it stronger so that nothing will break it apart.

The most important key is to love, encourage and to build up the one that you are in covenant with.
