HUNGER AFTER HOLINESS

For [our earthly fathers] disciplined us for only a short period of time and chastised us as seemed proper and good to them; but He disciplines us for our certain good, that we may become sharers in His own holiness.

HEBREWS 12:10

To be holy is to be like Jesus. It is the acknowledging of your place in Him and His role in your life. It is the degree of intimacy in your relationship with Him; it is knowing and fully trusting Him. Christians are called to live a life of holiness, a life “set apart” from the ways of the ungodly world.

Holiness does not mean isolation and loneliness. It is:

  • living close to God and not allowing the tarnish of the world to corrode your life
  • a healthy heart before Him
  • experiencing His presence

Once you have chosen the things of God, it is the work of the Holy Spirit to make it possible for you to live a holy life before God. The Spirit will empower and work in you, cleansing, healing, leading and strengthening you against temptation and sin.

The more time you spend in the Father’s presence, the more your will take on His holy nature. You will get stronger and strong against sin and temptation until you become holy in your spirit, soul and body.

Live and embrace a consecrated life of holiness and purity.
