For it is God’s will and intention that by doing right [your good and honest lives] should silence (muzzle, gag) the ignorant charges and ill-informed criticisms of foolish persons.

1 PETER 2:15

Your life should be above reproach so that no one can say an evil word about you, and if they do, they would have to lie to do it.

Not everyone is going to be thrilled about what you are doing and the way that you are conducting your life. After all, it was not too long ago, and perhaps you may have been the one who was leading everyone else astray. You cannot help these poor folks that cannot understand what you are doing? Keep your cool and continue to please God. The Word helps you to live right; it will help you to think godly thoughts and to stay on the things that will delight the Lord.

Don’t sacrifice the things of God for a season of sin. Don’t compromise your life with the Lord for an old friend or the lusts of the flesh. These bad decisions will only destroy your life down the road and keep you captive to its pleasures. The wages of sin are death!

If you know you are straying from God, read His Word, pray, trust and live according to His precepts. Pull yourself together. Keep a good strong eye on yourself and do what you know is best for your life.

Living for God will always get people talking, one way or another.
