I have fought the good (worthy, honorable, and noble) fight, I have finished the race, I have kept (firmly held) the faith.

2 tIMOTHY 4:7

Whatever you do, don’t quit. God has given you a specific race to run, and it would be unfair if the race He set before you was too hard for you to finish, so finish it well. The particular race that you are to run may require serious endurance, so train hard, and get strong.

Life is full of challenging circumstances that can totally overwhelm and swamp you. You may be overcome by the files and papers heaped on your desk; you may be dealing with one crisis after the next; your home may be out of control; the washing, ironing, cooking, seeing to the children, homework and looking stunning for your darling husband.

Life’s pressures can cause you to abandon the race and give up, and when you just get rid of one challenge the next one arrives. Welcome to the real world! Everything needs attention, some much more than others.

But, make up your mind that NOTHING is going to take you out of the race. God has equipped you well, and you can do it. Keep your running shoes on and your eyes on Jesus. Things will calm down again and then you can breathe. Thank the Lord for wisdom in each situation and keep smiling. You are going to run your race and you are going to finish it – surely to win would be even nicer.
