[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

It all came down to the Father having the final victory at the cross. Right through eternity Satan chanced his luck, he even thought he was greater than the Almighty Father.

Jesus did it all for us, obtaining our liberty, peace and joy, giving us the pleasure of eternal life with God. It took everything that Jesus had to obey the Father right to the end. He was sinless, not guilty, and He took the debt and paid it in full.

They could not kill Jesus although they did try to on a number of occasions. He chose to give His life as a ransom for us. He knew that in the long term the wealth of winning us back to the Father was the ultimate victory. He laid down His life for us. When it was done He cried out, “It is finished. I have done the work.”

This brought total disrepute into the enemy’s camp and since that hour Satan has continued to try and stop the children of God from gaining the upper hand. It’s too late, we know who he is, and the Father has fully exposed his work. As the Scripture says “He made a bold display and a public example of them through the cross.”

The enemy is under your feet, never look up, look down at him.
